Procaine, its hydrochloride is called novocain. Its hydrochloride is white crystal or crystalline powder, odorless, slightly bitter, followed by a sense of numbness, and easily soluble in water.
This product is an ester local anesthetic that can temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers and has an anesthetic effect. This product has weak penetration into the skin and mucous membranes and is not suitable for surface anesthesia.
It is suitable for infiltration anesthesia, conduction anesthesia, subarachnoid anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, and is also used for local blockade of peripheral nerve lesions.
